Early access
Pricing
Every tool on Braillify is free while the site is in early access, and none of them needs an account: the translator in eight languages, the printable charts, the document converter, the BRF viewer, the image reader, the dot generator and the public API.
What is free today
- The braille translator in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish and Czech, in both directions where the language tables support it.
- The alphabet and numbers references, with charts to print as PDF.
- PDF and Word to BRF and the BRF viewer that turns a .brf back into readable text or a PDF.
- The generator that outputs braille dots as SVG, PNG or an STL model for 3D printing.
- The public API, with no key and no sign-up.
The limits that apply now
Braillify runs on a single server, so requests are counted per IP address. The limits are set well above normal use — they exist to stop one client from taking the service down for everyone else.
| What | Requests | Per | Covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Translations | 60 | 5 minutes | text to braille and braille to text, any language |
| Braille plates | 30 | 5 minutes | SVG, PNG or STL from the generator |
| BRF files read | 20 | 5 minutes | cells, text, PDF or plain text |
| Documents converted | 10 | 5 minutes | PDF or DOCX, up to 10 MB each |
| Images read | 10 | 5 minutes | photos of braille, up to 5 MB each |
Pro plans, later
When Braillify leaves early access there will be paid plans for people who need more than a shared server can give away: higher limits, API keys for teams, and commercial volume. What is free today is meant to stay free — a parent labelling a jar or a teacher preparing a worksheet should never need an invoice.
Prices will be published here before they apply, and the terms of use say the same thing.
Frequently asked questions
Is Braillify really free?
Yes. Every tool on the site is free during early access, for personal, educational and commercial work, and none of them asks for an account, an email address or a card.
Do I need an API key?
Not today. The public API takes requests without a key, limited per IP address. Keys will arrive with the paid plans, and the free tier will keep working without one.
What will the paid plans include?
Higher rate limits, API keys for teams, and support for commercial volume. The tools that are free now are meant to stay free; paid plans are for people who need more of them than a shared server can give away.
Will anything become paid without warning?
No. Prices and limits will be published on this page before they apply, and nothing you can do today will stop working overnight.
What happens if I hit a limit?
The server answers with HTTP 429 and a Retry-After header, and the tool shows a message asking you to wait. The counter resets five minutes after your first request in that window.
